You should always perform thorough checks before starting your route, but in extreme heat, it’s important to double check certain areas every time you hit the road, including:

  • Tire air pressure and mounting pressure
  • Condition of belts and hoses
  • Engine oil level
  • Gauges
  • Coolant level

Safety is vital. A simple problem that can easily be remedied at the start of the day can become a serious and time-consuming issue a few hours later. Also ensure that you stay healthy in the heat:

  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid long exposure to the sun – you can get a sun burn while driving!
  • Keep cool physically and mentally – use your A/C and avoid high levels of stress
