If you find yourself stranded on the road in a winter storm follow these steps:
Do Not Panic: Remain calm at all times and remember to work slowly to avoid overexertion. Trying to shovel even small amounts of snow can cause a heart attack.
Stay In Your Truck: Do not leave your truck in search of help especially in bad weather. These conditions make it easier for you to become disoriented and lost in the blowing and drifting snow. Your truck will give you the most amount of protection and you are more likely to be found if you stay in your truck.
Keep Fresh Air Circulating: Carbon monoxide can build up inside your cabin, especially if it is sealed by blowing or drifting snow. To provide proper ventilation, run the engine sparingly and open only the downhill window.
Keep Active: From time to time, clap your hands and move your legs vigorously to stimulate circulation, relieve muscle tension and help keep yourself awake.
Turn on Your Interior Lights: Turning on your interior lights as it helps you observe others in your truck and makes you more noticable to others passing by.
